ExcelSQL 2.5 press releasePRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Release of ExcelSQL - add-in for fetching data from SQL databases to Microsoft Excel ================================================= Espoo, FINLAND -- August 31st 2000 -- ExcelSQL add-in for Microsoft Excel was released today by a Finnish software company, Noromaa Solutions. ExcelSQL can be used to fetch data from different SQL databases into Microsoft Excel. How does ExcelSQL work? -------------------------- ExcelSQL integrates Microsoft Excel with most SQL database servers through ODBC. It allows developers to enter SQL statements (using the SQL language) into Microsoft Excel, and then execute the statements. The results of the SQL queries are returned directly to Excel, and are available for further processing by Excel formulas and other Excel functionality. ExcelSQL stores SQL statements into cell notes in Excel. This way, they are conveniently out of ordinary users' way, but can still be easily edited. Why is ExcelSQL such a great development tool? ------------------------------------------------- Microsoft Excel is a great program for managing and analyzing data. Most companies have databases with different mission-critical operational and financial data. This is where ExcelSQL comes into play: it provides an easy way for a database expert to write an SQL query, and then lets the users execute this query whenever fresh data is needed. Availability and distribution -------------------------------- ExcelSQL is available for free trial at our Web page (http://www.excelsql.com). ExcelSQL is distributed under the "shareware" concept, meaning that users can try it out for one month. After the trial period, they can register for $100.
